Angry Ape Army Series

“Ape Nirvana” and “Ape eden” both experimentation with abstraction, and monolithic. In a way, it feels almost something spiritual.

For the “Ape Nirvana” I wanted to express these emotions and moods about the Ape is fragmenting and becomes the universe. So its almost like a poetic way of showing the ape as not just a single being, but part of the universe.

In the initial idea stage of “Ape Eden”, I had this kind of idea. If this ape itself is a piece of plaster, the concept of an object that has hardened like a cliff. And I tried to express the glowing sphere as bringing forth new life from harden rocks. This piece is meant to be more peaceful than the Ape Nirvana which is more explosive and dynamic.
